IN-TRANSIT TAG SERVICES
(60-day temporary tags)

Are you an out-of-state resident who just purchased a vehicle with a Pennsylvania title? Or did you just sell your PA-titled vehicle to an out-of-state buyer and they need to get back to their home state to title & register it? If so, we can help you by processing a temporary tag. Pennsylvania In-Transit tags will provide you with a temporary registration for 60 days, giving you (or your buyer) time to get back to your/their home state and do your/their state title and registration work.

Here is what you need to bring with you to process the In-Transit tag:

Seller
• Proof of ID – valid PA Photo Driver’s License
• PA Certificate of Title to the vehicle that was just sold. (It is important to note that a PA title requires the seller’s signature be notarized ~ we can take care of that while you are here.)

Buyer

• Valid out of state Photo Driver’s License ~ In-Transit tags cannot be issued to a PA address.
• Current automobile insurance card or declarations page specifically listing driver’s name(s)
• NOTE: If the seller is not accompanying you to Plum Notary, bring the PA Certificate of Title already signed by the seller with the seller’s signature already notarized.

Upon issuance of the 60-day temporary tag, the original PA Title will be given to the buyer so they may complete the processing with their home state Department of Motor Vehicles.
